Roofing SWMS Pack

Awareness-level controls for workers who may encounter asbestos-containing materials (ACM) - identifying likely ACM, using the asbestos register, and responding to suspected or disturbed material. This SWMS does not authorise removal.

Work with plant, equipment or materials near overhead electric lines, including planning, exclusion zones, spotters and emergency response to line contact.

Preparation and coating/encapsulation of asbestos-cement roofs - the roof is coated in place, never abraded or pressure-washed.

Installation, alteration and removal of temporary roof edge protection (guardrail) systems on new and existing roofs.

Installation and repair of tiled roofs - battens, sarking, tile loading, laying, cutting, ridge work and bedding/pointing.

Removal of existing roof cladding (sheet or tile) and battens, including fragile and ACM roof identification, work at height, debris handling and weatherproofing.

Installation of skylights, roof windows and roof ventilators - cutting openings, flashing and sealing on existing roofs.

Landscaping work in occupied homes - gardens, structures and maintenance with residents on site.

Work within residential and commercial roof spaces - cabling, ducting, equipment and inspections.
