Hazardous Substances (Demolition)
Identifying, handling, storing and disposing of hazardous substances encountered in demolition - fuels, lead paint, PCBs, synthetic mineral fibre and contaminated dust - and managing asbestos so it is never disturbed in place.
Objective
Complete the work safely by controlling exposure, fire and environmental harm through SDS-based assessment, presuming and removing asbestos before demolition, correct storage and handling, dust suppression and effective spill and emergency response.
This is the Demolition version. The hazards and controls are written around demolition work, so it differs from the other 51 trade versions of Hazardous Substances. Compare all 52.

When you'd use this SWMS
If hazardous substances (demolition) is part of your job, the builder or head contractor will usually want a SWMS for it before you start on site. This one's editable in Word. Add your company and site details, check the hazards and controls against the actual job, and get your crew to sign on before work starts.
Doing the whole trade? The Demolition pack bundles this with the rest and works out cheaper. New to it? Here's what goes in a SWMS.
