Hazardous Substances (Tiling and Waterproofing)
Safe storage, handling, use and disposal of tiling and waterproofing chemicals including cement and screed, epoxy grouts, solvent and polyurethane membranes, primers and catalysts, with asbestos awareness.
Objective
Complete the work safely by controlling cement and screed alkali burns, epoxy grout, isocyanate and MEKP exposure, solvent membrane fumes and accidental asbestos disturbance through SDS-led controls, ventilation, gloves and RPE, and a presume-and-do-not-disturb approach to asbestos.
This is the Tiling and Waterproofing version. The hazards and controls are written around tiling and waterproofing work, so it differs from the other 51 trade versions of Hazardous Substances. Compare all 52.

When you'd use this SWMS
If hazardous substances (tiling and waterproofing) is part of your job, the builder or head contractor will usually want a SWMS for it before you start on site. This one's editable in Word. Add your company and site details, check the hazards and controls against the actual job, and get your crew to sign on before work starts.
Doing the whole trade? The Tiling and Waterproofing pack bundles this with the rest and works out cheaper. New to it? Here's what goes in a SWMS.
