Hazardous Substances (Traffic Management)
Storage, handling and use of hazardous substances in traffic and line-marking works - paints, hot thermoplastic, solvents and fuels - including SDS controls, ventilation, burns control and asbestos awareness.
Objective
Complete the work safely by controlling burns from hot thermoplastic over 200C, solvent and fuel vapour, fire and unexpected asbestos through SDS-based handling, ventilation, burns control and a do-not-disturb, presume-and-refer approach to asbestos.
This is the Traffic Management version. The hazards and controls are written around traffic management work, so it differs from the other 51 trade versions of Hazardous Substances. Compare all 52.

When you'd use this SWMS
If hazardous substances (traffic management) is part of your job, the builder or head contractor will usually want a SWMS for it before you start on site. This one's editable in Word. Add your company and site details, check the hazards and controls against the actual job, and get your crew to sign on before work starts.
Doing the whole trade? The Traffic Management pack bundles this with the rest and works out cheaper. New to it? Here's what goes in a SWMS.
